In this weeks WriteUpp release, we're introducing mandatory assessment fields, an improved caseload view and fixing a small bug with the Xero export. Here's what we've been up to:

New features

Mandatory assessment fields

We've added an optional setting to allow you to identify mandatory fields within a custom assessment form when creating or editing a form using the form builder. You can now make the following fields mandatory:
Text
Paragraph
Single Choice
Multiple Choice
Options List

When creating a new form, you'll see a Mandatory option for all of the above field types:

To ensure this field is completed before a form is saved, simply tick the box before clicking Finish Editing:

You'll also be able to edit any of your current custom assessment forms to include mandatory fields. To define an existing field as mandatory, open the form template and click on the Edit Field icon, where you'll then see the Mandatory option:

If you edit any current assessment forms to include mandatory fields, remember to Publish & Exit once you've made your changes, to ensure they are made live! Clicking Exit after making changes won't publish them for use with your clients

When completing an assessment within WriteUpp for one of your clients, you'll see mandatory fields indicated by a small * icon to the right of the field name, and see a prompt on screen if these fields aren't completed:

Clients completing online smart forms will also see a prompt on screen if they save a form without completing one or more mandatory fields. All mandatory fields must be completed before the form can be saved:

This will help you to gather all of the information you intend to and ensures that clients cannot submit the form in error without completing all required fields.

Please note that the prompt on screen will not yet show within the WriteUpp app, this will be introduced at a later date. You will see the * icon indicating a mandatory field when completing an assessment in the app, but will not be prompted to complete these if left empty.

Remember you can edit any of our pre-built assessment forms to customise these to your practice! Just follow the steps here

Improvements

Improved Caseload report

For sites with a large number of clients, the Caseload view was prone to timing out when retrieving episode information, therefore not providing the information. To combat this, we'll now populate and load the caseload view each night to ensure this data can be accessed immediately. This does mean that when an episode is created or closed for a client, they won't appear on the relevant caseload view until the following day. For example, if you discharge a client today, they would remain in the Open Episode view until tomorrow, when they would then appear in the Closed Episode view. You'll be able to see when it was last updated at the top of the screen.

We've also added information on the number of open and closed episodes for each client to this view:

Ability to remove the Type column from an invoice

The Type column on an invoice identifies whether a line item is an Appointment or an Item:

If you don't need or want to include this column on your invoices, we have made it an optional field. To remove this column from your invoices, head to Settings -> Invoice -> Layout and untick the Type checkbox:

Once you've saved this, the Type of a line item will no longer appear on your completed invoices:

Bug fixes

When exporting invoices to Xero recently, an invoice with an invoice date in WriteUpp of DD/MM/YYYY, was being exported to Xero with an issue date of the day before. This was due to the clocks changing in the UK 🕰, and has been fixed for invoices exported going forwards.
