How much does it cost to use video consultation?

For 1:1 video calling, which is included in your WriteUpp subscription, video minutes are charged at 1p per minute, plus tax where applicable.


To help you get started, your account will be credited with 1000 free video minutes when your start your WriteUpp trial. Video minutes are available to buy in bundles, just like SMS credits.


To host group video calls, you’ll need to add video licences to your subscription and assign them to the users who require one. Users with a video licence receive unlimited video minutes, so any calls they host won’t affect your minutes balance. Each video licence costs £8, which can save you money if you frequently host video calls.


What are the bundle sizes?

Video minutes are purchased in bundles of 5000, 2000, 1000, 600 & 300 minutes.


Do I need to have a separate subscription to use video consultation?

No. All you need is a WriteUpp subscription and video minutes in your account to host 1:1 video calls.


However, for group video calling, you will need to add video licences to your subscription. Each user who wishes to host group calls must have a video licence assigned to them (read more).


Do you share information with Third-Parties?

Absolutely not.


Do my patients need to download any software?

No. There's nothing to download, video consultations are fully embedded within WriteUpp. Your patients simply click on a secure video access link to join you for their consultation


No. The secure access link will remain linked to the appointment regardless of any changes made to the date/time.


Will a video consultation automatically start at the scheduled time?

No. You'll manually start the call once both you and the patient have arrived


Will a video consultation automatically cut out at the scheduled end time of an appointment?

No. If an appointment runs over, so will the video session. You need to manually end a session to conclude it.
