Can patients double-book appointments in Online Booking?
The availability patients see in Online Booking is directly based on the free time shown in your WriteUpp diary.
If you already have a Patient or Non-Patient appointment scheduled during a particular slot, that time will not be available for booking as long as the appointment status is set to:
Does this mean the patient is attending? = Yes
This setting prevents double-bookings by marking the slot as unavailable to others.
If you do wish to double-book patients (for example, during group sessions or overlapping appointments), you can still do this manually within your diary by:
Adding another appointment directly via the diary and changing the date/time before saving it
Dragging a booking into the desired time slot
If you notice double-bookings happening via Online Booking, please check the status of existing appointments in your diary. For both Patient and Non-Patient appointments, make sure the status used is set as:
Does this mean the patient is attending? = Yes
This setting tells Online Booking that the slot is not available to others.

To check or update this:
Go to Settings > Scheduling
Click on Appointment Statuses
Select Edit next to the relevant status
Ensure the “Does this mean the patient is attending?” field is set to Yes
This will ensure your availability reflects correctly in Online Booking and prevents unintentional double-bookings.
