Creating video appointment types
To host video consultations within WriteUpp, you first need to create specific appointment types that are used to book video consultations into your diary. Defining these appointment types as Video will tell WriteUpp to generate and save the unique video access link against the appointment at the time of booking.
Appointments types can only be specified as 'Video' at the point they are created. You can't edit an existing appointment type to change it to a video session. Likewise, if you want to make a video appointment not video, you'd have to recreate it from scratch and delete the video one.
Go to Main Menu -> Settings -> Scheduling -> Appointment Types and click on Create New Appointment Type:

Complete the fields displayed.
You must complete:
Name - for example "Initial Video Consultation"
Type - select 'Client/Patient Appointments only' for a video consultation
Duration - the duration of the appointment in minutes
Buffer time - an optional buffer time, which extends the length of the appointment in your diary to leave a gap between appointments
Cost - the cost associated with the appointment and if it is a 'Fixed rate' or 'Hourly rate'
Default app - specify if the appointment type is your default appointment type
Video - 'Video' must be set to Yes to indicate that the appointment takes place online via WriteUpp's video consultation platform
ISC - an optional ISC code, if relevant
Location - the locations at which it will be available, if you work across multiple locations (this will be important for online booking)
Resources - the users who will offer the treatment, if you have more than one user within your site (again important for online booking!)
If you're using Online Booking 2.0, you can make the video appointment available for online booking by toggling the switch here. Once enabled, additional fields will appear for online booking, including Display Name and Description.
If you're using the Classic Online Booking system and you'd like to allow your clients to book video appointments online, you'll have to make the relevant appointment types available in the admin are of Online Booking instead. More about that here.
Your video appointment type may look something like this:

When booking appointments into your diary, either standard or video, all appointment types are listed together, therefore we'd recommend using the word 'Video' in the name of all your video appointments, so you can easily identify them!
Once you've entered all the required information, click Save
You'll then see your new appointment type added to the list, and you can start using it to book video appointments -> Booking video consultations into your diary
