How do I create a credit note?
In some cases, such as to refund an amount paid or to correct a payment amount, it may be necessary to issue a credit note to a client. You can easily do this in WriteUpp using the invoicing feature.
Select the client that you wish to create the credit note for, so that they are the Active Client
Click on Create -> Invoice
Click on the Add New Expense button at the bottom of the screen, and enter the details of the credit - an example is shown below:
Then click on the green Save Expense button
Be sure no other appointments or pre-logged expenses are selected:
Click on Generate Invoice
Check the details and click on Save Invoice
Then print or email the credit note to the client
As soon as you have paid it, click Pay in Full to mark it as Paid:
You could also head to Create -> Expense, and create the credit this way. Then go to Create -> Invoice, make sure the credit is the only item ticked and generate the invoice.
