New Video Calling Platform (v2.17.15)
Our brand new video call platform is here, bringing a smoother, more secure consultation experience along with handy features like device selection, participant requests, and in-call messaging. You’ll also find improvements to Online Booking 2.0, new access to Stripe tax invoices, and a few bug fixes to keep everything running smoothly.
New Features
Introducing our new Video Call Platform
We’ve launched an upgraded video calling experience, currently supporting 1:1 calls between you (the host) and a participant (your patient).
Key improvements include:
- Participant requests to join: The participant now sends a request before joining the session. You, the host, can approve these requests and also remove a participant from the call, providing greater control and enhanced security.
- Device selection before and during calls: You can now choose your microphone, speakers and camera in the waiting room before the call, and switch devices at any time during the session using the new in-call selectors.
- Enhanced troubleshooting tools: Access live call quality tracking and find links to helpful troubleshooting articles
- Chatbox feature: A brand-new chatbox lets you exchange messages or links with the participant during the session.
This update brings greater flexibility, control, and reliability to your video consultations, and there's still more to come!

Improvements
Appointment Type Ordering for Online Booking 2.0
If you’re using Online Booking 2.0, you’ll now see a new Order field when creating or editing appointment types. This setting gives you more control over how appointment options are presented to your clients when booking online.
- Appointment types with a lower order number (e.g. 1) will appear higher in the list on your booking site.
- Types without an order number will be displayed after ordered ones and sorted alphabetically.
- This setting applies only to Online Booking 2.0 and does not affect the order elsewhere in the system.
To customise ordering, head to Settings ➝ Scheduling ➝ Appointment Types, click 'Edit' next to a type and set the Order field to your preferred position.
Online Booking 2.0 - Improvements to Welcome text
You can now enter up to 1000 characters into the Welcome text field for your Online Booking 2.0 site.
Line breaks are also supported, giving you more flexibility to format your text clearly and neatly.
Stripe Tax Invoices
You can now view Stripe Unified tax invoices in Account Details ➝ Payment History.
If your site is (or has been) connected to Stripe Unified and has Stripe fees recorded, a monthly tax invoice will be automatically generated and available in this section.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the pound sign (£) was always displayed when creating or editing an appointment type, regardless of the currency selected in Settings ➝ Invoice.
- The subject line of internal messages is now limited to 250 characters. When replying to an internal message, ‘Re’ is no longer automatically added to the subject.
