Stripe reader integration! (v2.17.11)
We bring you an exciting update this month, as we introduce the Stripe reader to WriteUpp. Pairing a Stripe reader and taking in-person payments couldn't be easier with the new integration. Find out more below, and learn about everything else we have been working on in this release!
In this update, we introduce a new integration with Stripe‘s pre-certified card readers*. If you are connected to Stripe Unified, then you now have the option to link a Stripe reader to your WriteUpp account. Improve your cash flow and provide your clients with a secure, streamlined payment experience.

Connecting a Stripe reader to WriteUpp
*Only available with the BBPOS WisePOS E reader and Stripe Reader S700
When creating and editing assessment forms in the Form Builder, you can choose to insert a Paragraph field. Previously, the largest size option available for this was 1024 characters. In this release, we have added an Extra Large field size with an upper limit of 8000 characters. It is now possible to choose from the following field sizes:
Small - 256 characters
Regular - 512 characters
Large - 1024 characters
Extra large - 8000 characters (new!)
Please be aware that during this update, we renamed the field sizes. So for example, a large paragraph field in an existing form, would now be labelled as ‘Regular’. Don’t worry though, the character limit will be the same!
You can increase the paragraph field size in any existing forms, by editing the form and clicking on the ‘Pencil’ icon for the Paragraph field. Then, simply select the new 'Extra Large (8000 characters)' size option and save the change!
PDF generation during exports (for access requests) was no longer working efficiently, causing delays in the completion of the download. The information held for your site in the database needs to be converted into a file when it’s exported and to ensure reliability in this, notes, documents, consents and messages are now exported as txt files.
The error messages in the ‘Send a [Smart Form]’ modal have been fixed.
Rounding issues for payments made via Online Booking have been resolved for Stripe Unified and standard users. Not moved over to Stripe Unified yet? Switch today and you could save 0.5% on transaction fees (read more)!
If an invoice is created via Online Booking with Stripe connected, then the time is now present in the ‘Appointment invoiced’ line of the Appointment History log.
