How to migrate your practice over to WriteUpp
Moving your practice online, or over from another system, can seem very daunting! You will be very pleased to know that we have a straight forward data import process in place for all of our users here at WriteUpp.
Depending on how many records you have, you may need to dedicate some time to the import process. The good news is that it's a one-time job, and the benefits certainly outweigh the admin time you'll spend on it.
You can import the following patient information in batches of 500 records at a time:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Address 1
- Address 2
- Address 3
- City
- Postcode
- Date of Birth
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Mobile Number
- Source - where the data came from - this is for GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) purposes
To make the import process as straightforward as possible, we provide you with an import pro-forma to organise and collect the data that you would like to self-import into WriteUpp. To find this form, go to Main Menu -> Tools -> Data Import, and click on the pro-forma link:
To find out more on how to perform the data import, take a look at our help centre article here.
Everything else you have, for example your patient's assessments, notes etc, can then be attached to patient files. To upload a file to a patient record:
- Click on the Create button and select Attachment
- Choose the file from your device
- Click Save!
This uploader supports a variety of file formats including PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, CSV, JPEG, PNG. Some older file formats (i.e. BMP) may not be supported. A full list of the file formats that can be uploaded, can be found here.
You can find the full instructions on how to attach or upload a file to a patient's record here.
Once you've added all of your patient data to WriteUpp, that's it! Your practice is online and you can start to enjoy the benefits that we have to offer. If you need any help with the import process, just click on the chat icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
