Setting up Square online payments

To take both online invoice payments and online booking prepayments via Square, you'll need to identify a location from your Square account that these payments are allocated to. When you connect WriteUpp to your Square account, any locations you have within Square will be sent across to WriteUpp so you can set this.

This is done on the Square configuration screen under the Online payments section, where you'll see an option for Square location for online payments:

If only one location has been returned by Square, this will be populated in the field and you don't need to do anything else!

If you have multiple locations in Square, one will be allocated for you by default when you make the connection. You can change the location that online payments are allocated to by clicking on the Change location link to the right of the field:

This will open a dropdown list of your locations, where you can choose which one should be used:

Changing the location using this dropdown will save the newly selected location as the location associated with online payments.

Any online payments you take through WriteUpp, either for invoices or online booking prepayments, will be allocated to that location within your Square dashboard for reporting.

Square is only available to WriteUpp users based in the UK. For those of you who are not UK based, you will be able to set up Stripe, which allows online payments only
