What rate will I pay with a Stripe unified account?

Stripe rates in WriteUpp are managed by WriteUpp. As a result, they may vary from Stripe's published rates and are subject to variation if network costs change.

🇬🇧 If you are taking online GBP payments in the UK via a standard UK card you will pay:

1.5% + 20p per transaction

For other GBP transactions the charges will be:

1.9% + 20p for Premium* UK cards
2.5% + 20p for EU cards (EEA area cards)
3.25% + 20p for international cards

🇪🇺 If you are taking online EUR payments in the EEA via a standard EEA card you will pay:

1.5% + €0.25% per transaction

For other EUR transactions the charges will be:

1.9% + €0.25 for Premium* EEA cards
2.5% + €0.25 for UK cards
3.25% + €0.25 for international cards

EEA Countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic (Czechia), Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden

*Premium UK and EEA cards are commercial, corporate, or business cards issued by Visa and Mastercard

🇦🇺 If you are taking online AUD payments in Australia via a domestic Australian card you will pay:

2.2% + A$0.30

For other AUD transactions the charges will be:

4% + A$0.30 for international cards

Please note:

These rates are subject to variation

If cross-border network costs are required on any transaction, an additional 1% is added

If currency conversion is required on any transaction, an additional 2% will be added. Currency conversion occurs when the presentment currency (what the patient sees) is different from the settlement currency (the default currency of the bank account linked to your Stripe account). It is always best to present your default currency to patients for payment.

If you process payments using alternate card/currency combinations a fallback rate of 3.5% + 20p per transaction will be applied
