Can I deselect an Active Client?
As most clinical activities, such as writing up a note or completing an assessment, are client-related, WriteUpp has been designed to be almost completely client-centric. We use something called the Active Client model. to do this.
If you do wish to 'de-select' the Active Patient, it's likely you're wanting to do one of two things:
Record an activity against another client - in which case you can use the 'Switch' functionality in WriteUpp to quickly and easily change the Active Client. You can read more here -> How can I switch between patients?
Undertake a non-client related activity such as:
creating a task
sending a message
booking a non-patient related appointment
In these scenarios, rather than de-selecting the Active Patient, we give you the ability to specify that the activity is non-client related:
Non-Patient Related Task:
Non-Patient Related Internal Message:
If you wish to relate a task or internal message to the Active Client, simply tick the checkbox highlighted above! If not, leave it unchecked.
Non-Patient Related Appointment:
You can switch between Patient and Non-patient related appointments using the toggle at the top of the appointment model, as highlighted above. Any Non-patient appointments booked will not be related to the Active Patient.
If you still wish to deselect the Active Client, there is a neat hack to do this. Simply head to Create -> Patient, and then click on the 'Cancel' button. Look to the top right, you will see that the Active Client button has been removed!
